Selling faulty life jackets to refugees reflects a cruel irony: those fleeing danger in search of safety are often met with indifference, neglect, or even betrayal. Here, the life jacket becomes a metaphor for false promises, a system that pretends to offer protection but is hollow, even harmful. The red thread suggests a cost whether it's the loss of life, dignity, or hope that unravels when those in need are treated as disposable.
